Vice President of the United States of America Kamala Harris, during the Munich Security Conference in February 2022, convinced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to secure himself by preparing his successor for the post of President of Ukraine if captured or killed, according to the new book "War by journalist Bob Woodward, deputy editor of The Washington Post.
Kamala Harris asked Zelensky to provide a successor in the country to maintain stability "if he is captured or killed".
Woodward also alleges that Harris is trying to push French President Emmanuel Macron into action in the fall of 2021 in preparation for what U.S. intelligence believes will be significant military action by Russia against Ukraine.
Woodward compared the US intelligence failure in Afghanistan to the "remarkable insight" that US intelligence had into Russia's plans before its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. According to the author, the "most delicate" Biden's diplomacy has been to try to prevent a nuclear strike by Russia.
"In the fall of 2022, this possibility seemed real, as US intelligence agencies reported that Putin was seriously considering the use of tactical nuclear weapons - at one point the probability of this was estimated at 50 percent. There was a particularly frantic attempt to bring Moscow back from the brink in October of that year, when Russia appeared to be laying the groundwork for an escalation by accusing Ukraine of preparing to detonate a dirty bomb, the book states.
