Replenishment of the Russian army with soldiers from North Korea is possible. This scenario is a serious threat to Ukraine, said to TV "Espresso". Valery Ryabih – military expert from Defense Express.
„As for the North Koreans and their potential participation in the Russian-Ukrainian war, we can talk about a serious threat. First, we are talking about the inadequacy of the regimes in both the Russian Federation and North Korea, which makes these plans possible, Ryabih pointed out.
„It is worth noting that North Korea's army is the fifth largest in the world, numbering approximately 1.3 million people, of which 1.1 million are ground forces, and a significant part of these forces, including airborne units and special forces can be sent to Ukraine”, the military expert also pointed out.
According to various sources, North Korean officers are already (or were) on the territory of Ukraine, in particular in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region. According to some sources, they are trained by the Russians, according to others, they accompany shells delivered by North Korea.
„Our partners should be more attentive to this issue and move to more decisive actions in support of Ukraine,” Valery Ryabih pointed out.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said yesterday that he had been informed by Ukrainian intelligence services of “actual involvement” of North Korea in Russia's war against Ukraine. Zelensky did not reveal more details.
