The US has a plan to end the war in Ukraine, but it includes "territorial compromises”. This was emphasized by the former ambassador of Kyiv in Washington in the period 2015–2019 Valery Chalii in an interview for RBC-Ukraine.
"When the Americans came to Kyiv, they suggested to Zelensky to be more flexible in Washington, they basically expected him to discuss possible territorial compromises,”, explained the diplomat.
Chalii is confident that the US has a plan for the war in Ukraine and it includes:
Avoiding direct confrontation with Russia;
Preventing NATO involvement in the conflict;
"To prevent a Russian victory over Ukraine, so that Ukraine can survive, not even as a territory, but as a sovereign, independent state“.
"Yes, this plan is not about the victory of Ukraine”, commented the former Ukrainian ambassador.
He also believes that the Ukrainian authorities could counter the plan only through "escalation” and involving other countries in the war.
"We have to make sure that other countries are also involved in this war. I am convinced that peace will come after escalation, not the other way around. That is, if we show escalation on our side and that the Poles, Lithuanians and French are on our side, if we are not afraid to have pilots from these countries - the French on the Mirage, the American veterans - on the F-16, if we create one tripartite brigade and we use it on the border, Putin will start shouting. Let's show that there is no going back, then in Russia they will start looking for where to direct all of this”, said the former ambassador.

In Kiev: the US plans to cede territories to Russia, we urgently need an escalation
