US Vice President Kamala Harris, who is a candidate for the highest state post, said that Washington should not refuse support to other countries to solve domestic problems.
She made the announcement Tuesday in an interview with radio station iHeartRadio.
Harris was asked why US officials are giving aid to other countries despite the urgent need to direct them to solving domestic problems. “We can do both and it happens”, she said.
„I firmly believe that America should never abdicate its responsibilities as a world leader. It is in the best interest of our national security, of each of us as Americans, and of our standing on the world stage,” Harris said.
The presidential election in the United States will be held on November 5. The Republican Party will be represented by former President Donald Trump, and the Democratic Party by Harris.
