Pentagon chief: US missiles are very expensive, Ukrainian army must rely on its own drones

Ukraine has to rely on its own drones to strike Russia's rear because western missiles are too expensive. This was stated at a briefing by US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin, quoted by UNIAN.

He noted that Ukraine has previously demonstrated the effectiveness of its long-range drones in carrying out such attacks, particularly against strategic ammunition depots in Russia.

"They are able to manufacture these drones in Ukraine, dramatically increasing their production. These drones have proven to be very efficient and accurate. You have to consider the fact that the cost of a precision guided missile is in some cases close to a million dollars, depending on the type. "They can produce drones in large quantities at a low cost, so looking at the balance and the effects that are being created on the battlefield, I think it's a great opportunity," Austin said.

He noted that the Ukrainians can dispose of their drones as they see fit.
