A high-ranking Russian delegation has arrived in Tel Aviv on Thursday to discuss with the Israeli side the prospects of concluding an agreement with the Palestinian movement Hamas to release the hostages held in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the Al Hadath television channel, broadcasting from Dubai, citing sources.
On October 23, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip in a meeting in Moscow with a high-ranking member of the Politburo of Hamas Musa Abu Marzouk.
As noted by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian side has paid special attention to "the problem of the quick release of hostages who are Russian citizens".
The Palestinian armed group "Hamas" wants Russia to push Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to start talks on a government of national unity for post-war Gaza, Marzouk said after the meeting yesterday.
