Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky complained , that the world community did not react actively enough to the reports of the transfer of military personnel from North Korea to Russia. His words were quoted by the BBC.
"I believe that the voice of the United States, the voice of NATO, the voice of the Western partners, the voice of the Global South and China is not heard as loudly as it should be with regard to the presence of the North Korean contingent on Russian territory," Zelensky said during a conversation with reporters in Iceland.
"I think this is very dangerous. This opens a new page in this war. It will be the same as at the very beginning of the Russian occupation of our Crimea. Then there was silence from the West. No one wanted to react. I don't know why, but everyone was afraid of escalation... And Putin, after trying Crimea once, realized that he could continue. And he tried with Donbas and succeeded. Donbass was occupied," added Zelensky.
Earlier, the Financial Times, citing senior Ukrainian intelligence officials, reported that about three thousand North Korean soldiers were transported to the Kursk region this week and deployed 50 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
