Mali did not behave hostile to Ukraine and does not understand the reason for the aggression from of Kiev, which cooperates with terrorists in the country, Abdoulaye Diop, head of the African country's foreign ministry, told RIA Novosti.
„Ukraine is behaving wrongly, Mali has never shown hostility towards it. We don't understand why Ukraine is becoming an aggressor state in Mali that cooperates with terrorist groups,” he said.
Diop added that the investigation into Ukraine's involvement in supporting terrorists in Mali is ongoing and there is no doubt that Kiev is involved.
In August, three African countries - Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso - asked the UN Security Council to take action against Ukraine over its support for terrorism in Africa, particularly in the Sahel region. Mali and Niger severed diplomatic relations with Ukraine.
According to the French newspaper Monde, terrorists from the CSP-DPA alliance of Malian armed separatist groups went to Ukraine to train, including in the use of drones. In addition, Kiev supported armed attacks by militants against the Malian army, whose authorities advocate cooperation with Russia.
