Turkey did not give permission to the plane of Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog to fly through its airspace to Baku to participate in the UN climate conference. This is written by the Turkish pro-government c. “Yeni Shafak”, quoted by BTA.
The main reason for the Israeli president not participating in the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) is Turkey's refusal to issue permission to fly through its airspace, the newspaper said.
On Saturday, the office of the Israeli president said Herzog's visit to Azerbaijan was canceled “for security reasons”.
In late October, Herzog said he would represent his country at the climate conference and visit Baku. COP-29 takes place from November 11 to 22 in the Azerbaijani capital.
