France and Britain discuss sending troops to Ukraine

Britain and France are considering scenarios to ensure the security of Ukraine if it concludes a peace agreement with the Russian Federation.

One of these scenarios is the deployment of their military contingent on the demarcation line, writes Radio Svoboda, citing the words of a high-ranking NATO representative. He noted that the discussions are not conducted at the level of the North Atlantic Alliance, but in London and Paris.

The countries are preparing options in case the team of the newly elected President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, asks exactly how the European countries should act in this situation.

The media previously reported that Trump's plan to end the war in Ukraine may include the creation of a buffer zone that will be monitored by foreign military personnel.

Estonia has already called on Europe to be ready to send troops to Ukraine. The European Union also announced that such a development of events can no longer be ruled out.

The presence of military personnel from individual countries was also discussed earlier, but the partners only announced a readiness to return their military instructors.

French President Emmanuel Macron earlier said Paris would have to discuss sending ground troops if the Russian army breaks through the front line.
