The Security Service of Ukraine reported on Monday that on the night of December 5-6, a group of SBU Sea Baby sea drones with heavy machine guns mounted on them engaged in battle with Russian helicopters, planes and patrol boats trying to intercept them in the Kerch region, near the ferry link between Russia and annexed Crimea, writes the BBC.
"The newest Sea Baby ships were equipped with large-caliber machine guns with ballistic programs for automatic guidance and automatic target acquisition," explained the SBU, publishing a video of this battle.
The SBU claims that according to the data from the radio interception, among the crews of the helicopters there are killed and wounded, and the helicopters themselves will need major repairs.
In addition, naval drones, according to the SBU, fired at the cargo barge.
The press service of the SBU writes that the Sea Baby unmanned marine cutters can be equipped not only with machine guns, but also with reactive systems for salvo fire and flying drones.
The Russian military has not announced anything about this battle, only saying on the morning of Friday, December 6 that eight Ukrainian drones were destroyed in the Black Sea during the night and morning.
