Residents of Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, are reporting on social networks about an attack by drones and explosions heard in the city. According to witnesses, the target of the attack was the OMON base and the building of the specialized police department.
One of the videos on social networks shows an airplane-type drone diving over the city, and an explosion can be heard and seen from the place where it fell.
There is still no official information from either the Russian or Ukrainian sides.
Three days ago, drones attacked Grozny again. Then the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced that four officers were slightly injured when a drone exploded over the police barracks.
For the first time, Ukrainian drones reached Chechnya in late October, when a drone hit the military university, which Kadyrov renamed after Vladimir Putin earlier this year after receiving another award from the Kremlin.
Yesterday evening, Russian authorities announced that air defense systems had destroyed five Ukrainian drones over the Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk regions, as well as one over the Black Sea.
