Ukrainian Army: We have struck painfully at the Russians' armament - 1

The strikes of the Ukrainian armed forces with drones and missiles on targets in Russia directly affect the enemy's combat capabilities. This was stated on Sunday by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, quoted by UNIAN.

He emphasized that for several months the "consumption norms" of artillery ammunition in the Russian armed forces have been reduced by almost half.

"For several months now, the consumption of artillery ammunition in the Russian army has been reduced by almost half. A striking example. If earlier they reached 40 thousand per day, now it is significantly less", answered Sirsky.

Earlier UNIAN reported that the Ukrainian armed forces are striking exclusively at Russian military infrastructure, reducing the occupiers' capabilities on the battlefield.

"This does not affect the lives of the civilian population. We understand that the civilian population of Russia is temporarily peaceful, because they are either replenishing the army or really hate Ukraine in their hearts, but the strikes that are being carried out are exclusively for military purposes - legal, legitimate", the military expert explained.

In addition, GUR drones recently struck an oil depot in the Tula region. "At least ten precision drone strikes were carried out on the oil depot on the night of January 18", the report notes.

It is impossible to win a defensive war, Syrsky also said. According to him, Ukraine must realize what it has an advantage in. "We were the first in the world to create the Unmanned Systems Forces. We are currently building the unmanned component. We are actively developing robotic platforms, we are developing ground combat platforms," he said.

The general also said that work is underway in Ukraine to create a domestic air defense (ADF) system: "We have the capacity and the opportunities to create. I hope its characteristics will not be worse than the Patriot."

President Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on the strikes that hit Ukraine on Saturday, said that "we are constantly working on more air defense systems for Ukraine - modern systems that can shoot down such ballistic weapons".

"And we are working on this so that our Ukrainian army can be active against enemy launchers, especially on Russian territory," he added.

Three people were killed in the Russian missile strike on Kiev.
