„In his first term, Trump told over 30,000 lies. It has been proven, even defended in court, that he lied 21 times a day. By now, people should be clear that when a president has allowed himself to lie 21 times every day, his promises do not matter that much“, said Plevneliev.
He gave an example with the promise that on the first day in 24 hours he would resolve the war in Ukraine.
„I am waiting until tomorrow at noon for it to be resolved, but for it to be resolved in a sustainable way. Not just to postpone the difficult war. Unfortunately, Trump is no exception to the entire wave of populists who won the elections in more than one or two world capitals. This is a huge trap for Trump and I hope he realizes this“, commented Rosen Plevneliev.
According to him, voters and politicians will have to face reality.
„The „Trump“ storm is coming, I hope we are ready for it and I hope we realize that it will pass someday. Trump does not have four years, but two years, because in exactly two years there will be the so-called midterm elections in the USA. They are very well thought out by the American constitution to be exactly in the middle of the president's term. And then the assessment of his work will come. If you remember, he lost the midterm elections right in the middle of his term," explained Plevneliev.
He added that Donald Trump should be very careful, but he still has his first year in which he will do whatever he wants.
In a global aspect, Rosen Plevneliev does not expect improvements, because Trump will not fix global problems.
