Pope Francis plans to make his first public appearance in five weeks on Monday and deliver a blessing from the window of his room at Rome's Gemelli hospital, where he is being treated for double pneumonia, Reuters reported, citing the Vatican.
The 88-year-old Francis was admitted to the hospital on February 14 with a severe respiratory infection.
A photo of the pope during his stay in the hospital was first published by the Vatican last week. It shows the Holy Father praying in a hospital chapel.
Francis wants to appear at the window of his hospital room around noon tomorrow to offer a greeting and blessing, the Vatican said in a brief statement today.
Every Sunday at noon, the pope usually prays in St. Peter's Square, but the last time he was able to do so was on February 9, before he was admitted to the hospital.
