Israel's military operation against Iran has undermined regional and international security. This was stated in a statement by the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), of which Iran is a member.
“Such aggressive actions against civilian objects, including nuclear energy infrastructure, which led to the deaths of civilians, are a gross violation of the principles and norms of international law and the UN Charter, an encroachment on Iran's sovereignty“, said the statement released by the press service of the SCO Secretariat. - They harm regional and international security and are fraught with serious consequences for world peace and stability.“
The SCO countries expressed serious concern about the escalation of tensions in the Middle East and categorically condemned Israel's military strikes on the territory of the Islamic Republic, the statement said.
The SCO member states firmly support resolving the situation surrounding Iran's nuclear program exclusively through peaceful, political and diplomatic means, the organization's press service reported.
The press release also noted that the SCO member states consider any illegal actions directed against the SCO member states unacceptable and reaffirm their unwavering commitment to strengthening international peace and security.
