Trump said during the forum that the West's collective rejection of the G-8 format with Russia's participation was a big mistake. He also stressed that he would not agree to the introduction of new measures against Russia, noting that sanctions would be “costly“.

The G-7 summit, which includes Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, the United States, France and Japan, is being held from June 15 to 17 in the Canadian resort area of Kananaskis (Alberta).

White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt announced that Trump had to leave the summit in Canada earlier than planned and return to the United States due to the escalation of the situation in the Middle East.
