The elite Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had launched a new missile attack on Israel following the US midnight airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, DPA reported, BTA reported.
Long-range missiles fired by Iran were aimed at "Ben Gurion" Airport in Tel Aviv, a research center, Israeli command and military facilities, the Iranian Fars news agency reported.
Israel has not yet confirmed the attacks on these sites.
The US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities increase the risk of a global expansion of the regional conflict, the Turkish Foreign Ministry warned today, indicating that Ankara is deeply concerned about the possible consequences of the attacks, Reuters and the Anadolu Agency reported.
A statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry states that the conflict should not be allowed to escalate into a wider global war. Ankara calls on all parties to act responsibly and immediately stop the attacks.
The dispute between Washington and Tehran over the nuclear program can only be resolved through negotiations, the Turkish Foreign Ministry stressed, quoted by the Anadolu Agency.
