The Presidents of the United States and Ukraine - Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky - attended together last night's gala dinner given for world leaders - participants in the NATO summit in The Hague, by the King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander and his wife Maxima at the royal residence - the "Heus ten Bos" palace, BTA reported.
However, the two lined up far apart for the group photo, and it is not known whether Zelensky will attend today's plenary session, which is the main part of the event at the "World Forum" - the Hague Congress Center.
The reception was also attended by Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, who heads our delegation in The Hague. Along with him, the Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov and the Chief of Defense - Admiral Emil Eftimov arrived on the plane from Sofia. Our delegation also included the Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev, who on Monday attended a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in the Belgian capital Brussels.
Trump arrived last at the reception at the Heus ten Bosse Palace, about an hour after landing at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. Two highways - A4 and 44 - were freed up in their section between Amsterdam and The Hague because of the VIP guests at the forum. The American head of state, who is serving a second term in the White House, exited the presidential plane "Air Force One" wearing a white baseball cap with the words "USA" (USA).
Some of the world leaders were accompanied by their spouses. This was the case with French President Emmanuel Macron, who was with his wife Brigitte. During the reception, Macron kissed the hands of Queen Maxima and her daughter, Crown Princess Catharine-Amalia, and he and Brigitte also showed their warm feelings for King Willem-Alexander.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was at the reception with her husband Bo Tengberg.
