Friendly relations between Russia and China are at an unprecedented high level, with contacts between the leaders of the two countries playing a key role in this, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said today, who met with Chinese Minister of National Defense Dong Jun in Qingdao, TASS reported.
"Friendly relations between Russia and China maintain upward dynamics of development in all directions and are at an unprecedented high level. Trustful contacts between the leaders of the two countries play a key role in strengthening our strategic ties. "We are determined to implement all the agreements reached," the Russian Defense Minister said at the meeting with his Chinese counterpart.
Belousov noted that Russia relies on "close, fruitful cooperation with its Chinese colleagues, including on the platform of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization."
Belousov expressed confidence that "today's talks will serve to further strengthen the bilateral strategic partnership in the field of defense."
In turn, Chinese Minister of National Defense Dong Jun said that during the meeting "there will be an exchange of views on issues of common interest."
