US President Donald Trump said that Israel and Iran are tired, but the conflict between them could resume, Reuters reported.
"I have made an agreement with both sides and they are tired, exhausted... and could it start again? I guess it could be someday. It could be soon", Trump told reporters in The Hague after the end of today's NATO summit.
Trump noted that the US government plans to hold talks with Iran next week after the failure of negotiations between the two countries prompted the US to attack sites related to the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.
"Next week we will talk to them, to Iran. "We might sign a deal, I don't know," Trump said, quoted by the Associated Press. He added that he was not particularly interested in resuming negotiations with Tehran because US strikes had destroyed Iran's nuclear program. "They fought, the war is over," the US president said.
Iran has not confirmed the information about the upcoming consultations, although US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff said that there had been direct and indirect communication between the countries.
