US President Donald Trump announced yesterday that the United States is immediately suspending all trade talks with Canada due to the introduction of a digital services tax, which affects American technology companies, Reuters reports, quoted by Focus.
"We have just learned that Canada, which has already made trade extremely difficult, including for years with tariffs of up to 400 percent on our dairy products, has imposed a digital services tax on our technology companies. This is a direct and blatant attack on our country“, Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
According to him, Canada is "clearly copying“ the actions of the European Union, which is also considering the possibility of introducing a similar tax as in the United States of America.
