Europe is increasing purchases of Russian gas via the "TurkStream" gas pipeline.
This is reported by the Russian publication "Vedomosti", citing data from the European Network of Gas Transmission System Operators.
Exports of Russian gas to Europe via "TurkStream" for the first six months of 2025 increased by 7% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 8.3 billion cubic meters.
It was previously reported that Ukraine is also increasing its purchases of Russian gas, importing it from Hungary and Slovakia, where it comes via "TurkStream". In June, its imports increased by about 10%.
Ukraine has repeatedly called on EU countries to stop importing Russian energy, but continues to increase its purchases through intermediaries, the Ukrainian newspaper "Strana" adds.
