"All weapons systems are critical supplies for Ukrainian defense. Deliveries will arrive by the end of summer, after which the situation will become critical. "There could be a gap if Europe doesn't try to fill it somehow," said military analyst Carlo Massala of the Bundeswehr University in Munich.
Thomas Tyner, a military expert, agrees and believes that the supply of air defense missiles is the most important part of Western military aid. According to his estimates, previously delivered ammunition for the HIMARS systems could reach Ukraine by September if used sparingly. But the PAC-3 anti-aircraft missiles for the Patriot system could run out in just a few weeks if Russia begins to step up its ballistic missile attacks on Ukraine.
"Without Patriot missiles, Russian ballistic and cruise missiles will penetrate. And each missile delivers ten times more explosives to its target than the "Shahed" drone, Tyner warns.
