Pope Leo XIV arrived at the papal summer residence Castel Gandolfo, where he will stay until July 20, Aleteia.org reported.
The Italian town of Castel Gandolfo, located near the capital Rome, is considered one of the most beautiful in the country. The resort covers almost the entire coast of Lake Albano, and is surrounded by many private summer residences, villas and houses built in the 17th century.
Despite the high temperatures, dozens of residents waited for the Pope, who greeted them with a smile and a friendly smile. Upon his arrival in Castel Gandolfo, the Pope got out of his car to greet the people waiting for him at the entrance of Villa Barberini, the ancient palace where he will be staying.
Pope Leo XIV confirmed his joy at his stay in Castel Gandolfo and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet the inhabitants of the town in the coming days, stressing that he was pleased to continue his activities in such a beautiful place.
