US President Donald Trump was surprised after the president of Liberia spoke to him without an interpreter during a summit with five African leaders at the White House about trade opportunities, irishstar.com reported.
The other heads of state used interpreters throughout the meeting, but when the president of Liberia spoke to Trump, it immediately impressed the American head of state.
With a surprised expression on his face, Trump praised President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for his English speaking skills and asked him where he learned to speak the language so well. “Thank you, and such good English“, Trump said, before asking: “Where did you learn to speak so beautifully?“
