US experts: It is unclear whether bunker-busting bombs hit the intended targets in Iran - 1

Experts from the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency said they still do not have specific information about the damage caused by the strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran last month, DPA reported, BTA reported.

It is currently unclear whether the bunker-busting bombs used in the attack hit the intended targets, Agency officials said yesterday.

Israel launched the attack on June 13, which it described as an attempt to destroy Iran's alleged nuclear program for military purposes. Tehran, for its part, insists that its nuclear activities are entirely for civilian use, DPA notes.

After 12 days of military action, the two sides reached a truce. The US attack included 14 GBU-57 bombs on Iran's three main nuclear sites - in Isfahan, Natanz and Fordow.

Since then, there has been controversy over the extent of the damage, DPA notes.

US President Donald Trump said that the facilities had been completely destroyed. However, according to a confidential preliminary report by the Defense Intelligence Agency, cited by US media, Iran's nuclear program was likely delayed by only a few months. The White House sharply criticized the leak of this report, which it called "fake news".
