Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said yesterday that he spoke with Donald Trump and the two discussed "solutions" to better protect Ukraine after the American leader announced more arms deliveries to Kiev, Agence France-Presse reported, BTA reported.
“We discussed with the president (Donald Trump) the necessary means and solutions to better protect the population from Russian attacks and to strengthen our positions“, Zelensky wrote in a post on the social network “Ex“.
“We had a very good conversation. I thanked him for his readiness to support Ukraine and continue to work together to stop the killings and establish a lasting and just peace“, Zelensky added in „Telegram“, quoted by Reuters.
The Ukrainian leader also said that he had a very good conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who met with Trump at the White House yesterday.
V. „Financial Times“ (FT) today wrote that Trump encouraged Ukraine to step up its strikes deep into Russian territory and that he even asked Zelensky whether he could strike Moscow if the US provided Ukraine with long-range weapons. The British newspaper claims, citing two of its sources familiar with the conversation between Trump and Zelensky, that the US president asked the Ukrainian leader whether the Ukrainians could strike military targets deep into Russian territory if they were provided with weapons with the necessary capacity.
Reuters has asked the White House about the reports published by „Financial Times“ (FT) times“ allegations, but no response yet.
