US President Donald Trump said that US strikes had destroyed Iran's nuclear sites, Agence France-Presse reported. Trump made these assurances in a post on his social network “Truth Social“, BTA reported.
“The three nuclear sites in Iran were completely destroyed and/or wiped out“, Trump said and emphasized that it would take years to put them back into operation.
“If Iran wants to do it, it has an interest in starting from scratch, in three different places“, Trump added.
These statements come a day after the American television NBC, citing five American military representatives, stated that only one of the three nuclear sites in Iran targeted by the United States in June was largely destroyed, while the other two were seriously damaged, but uranium enrichment there could be resumed in the coming months if Iran requests it. The sources referred to a new report that they had seen and that had been made available to American lawmakers.
During the American strikes, carried out on the orders of Trump in support of the Israeli military offensive against Iran, the underground uranium enrichment site in Fordow and the nuclear facilities in Isfahan and Natanz were targeted. The strikes were carried out on June 22. The state of Iran's nuclear program after these strikes remains the subject of many questions.
A few days after the American strikes, the American media mentioned the first preliminary report of the American intelligence, which stated that the strikes had slowed down the Iranian nuclear program by several months, without completely destroying it, recalls Agence France-Presse.
