The Israeli army is attacking Houthi targets at the port in the Yemeni city of Hodeidah, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.
Katz said the army "resolutely opposes any attempt to restore the terrorist infrastructure that was previously attacked".
Since the start of Israel's war against the Palestinian group "Hamas" in the Gaza Strip in October 2023. Iran-aligned Houthis attack ships in the Red Sea in what they say is solidarity with the Palestinians.
In response, Israel launched strikes against the Houthis, who control the most populous part of Yemen, including the vital port of Hodeidah.
"As I have made clear, Yemen's fate is the same as Tehran's. The Houthis will pay a heavy price for firing missiles at Israel," Katz said.
