Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and former President Dmitry Medvedev said on the social platform "Ex" that US President Donald Trump is "playing with ultimatums" with Russia and added that this approach could lead to war, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
"Trump is playing with ultimatums with Russia: first 50 days, then 10. However, he should not forget two things. First - Russia is not Israel and not even Iran", Medvedev wrote. "Second - every new ultimatum (by Trump) is a threat and a step towards war. "Not with Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country," the former Russian president added, quoted by TASS.
Earlier today, the American leader lamented that he was disappointed that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had not ended the war in Ukraine and announced that he was giving Moscow a new deadline of 10 to 12 days to make progress in this direction.
Two weeks ago, the Republican president said at a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte that Washington would impose "very heavy tariffs" of about 100 percent on Russia if an agreement to stop the war in Ukraine was not reached within 50 days.
