US President Donald Trump officially opened his new golf course at his golf club in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, PA Media and DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
He said that before returning to Washington, he would "play a quick game, then go put out fires all over the world". The opening of the course was attended by golf enthusiasts, the First Minister of Scotland John Sweeney and the leader of the Scottish Labour Party Anas Sarwar.
"I'm looking forward to playing today. It's going to be a quick game because then I'm going back to Washington, where we have to deal with crises all over the world. Yesterday we decided one such thing - we stopped a war. Actually, we stopped about five wars. This is much more important than golf, as much as I love it," Trump said during the opening ceremony.
Trump said that during dinner with John Sweeney they discussed stopping the fighting between Cambodia and Thailand. The two also had a formal meeting, the main topics of which were tariffs on Scotch whiskey and the situation in Gaza.
At the end of his visit, Trump traveled back to the United States on the presidential plane "Air Force One".
