Thirty-two-year-old Brazilian Diego Galdino, who works as a home delivery man, became famous on social networks with videos in which he filmed himself chasing and stopping mobile phone thieves in the British capital London, reported Agence France-Presse.

The videos, uploaded to the "Instagram" and "TikTok" applications, are enjoying huge success on the Internet, with one of them, which shows a thief spitting on Galdino, already having accumulated over 12 million views. Galdino begins filming the thefts as they happen, then takes steps to stop the thieves.

Thefts of mobile phones and wallets on the streets of London have increased significantly in recent months, with one phone stolen every 6 minutes, according to local police.

Last year, nearly 32,000 incidents of mobile device theft were recorded in the historic Westminster district in central London, home to popular tourist attractions such as museums, the clock tower "Big Ben", the British Parliament buildings and Buckingham Palace. In order to tackle the problem, the capital's authorities have marked the pavements of busy London streets with purple lines with warnings: "Warning: phone thefts!"
