Serbia is the European country behind a $1.64 billion deal signed with Israeli defense giant Elbit Systems, the Belgrade-based Beta news agency reported, citing Israeli media outlets.
The Israeli defense company announced earlier this month that it had signed a contract to supply military equipment to a “European country“.
“The Times of Israel“ writes that according to information in Israeli media, it is about Serbia.
The five-year contract includes the sale of long-range missile and artillery systems and a range of drones, including those for tactical and operational use.
“Intelligence collection and processing systems, as well as advanced night vision systems, will also be delivered,“ the company said in a statement.
Elbit Systems also states that high-tech ISTAR systems, electronic warfare systems, and intelligence collection and processing systems will be delivered.
In addition, Elbit Systems will deliver a comprehensive solution for military digitalization and networked combat solutions, based on the latest generation of software and state-of-the-art hardware communications equipment, the company said in a statement.
