Trump welcomes Polish President Karol Nawrocki to White House - 1

US President Donald Trump welcomed his Polish counterpart Karol Nawrocki to the White House today and said that the main topics of the talks would be trade and other issues of bilateral relations, Reuters reported, BTA reports.

The agency notes that this is the conservative Polish leader's second visit to the Oval Office and his first since he took office in early August. Trump praised Nawrocki, saying he was doing a "really fantastic" job.

"We're going to discuss trade and various other things," the US president told reporters, without giving further details.

Trump stressed that US troops would remain in Poland and was ready to send additional troops if Warsaw requested it. The prospect of reducing the US military presence in Europe has been a constant theme since the beginning of his term, Reuters recalls.

The US leader also commented on the military parade in China, describing it as a "beautiful ceremony". However, he expressed dissatisfaction that the United States was not mentioned in Chinese President Xi Jinping's speech: "I think we should have been mentioned because we have helped China a lot."

Regarding Russia, Trump said he had no new message for President Vladimir Putin, who he said had to make a decision on the war in Ukraine:
"He knows where I stand and he will make one decision or another. If we are not happy with the decision, you will see what happens."

Trump added that he planned to speak with Putin in the coming days: "I will speak with him and then I will know exactly what is going on."
