The National Early Warning and Notification System will be tested from 11:00 a.m. on October 1, Wednesday, the Ministry of Interior (MI) announced. The BG-ALERT system will also be tested from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. This is reported on the system's website.
A test of the National Early Warning System will be held in Sofia, Burgas, Varna, Kardzhali, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Ruse, Smolyan, Vratsa, Stara Zagora, in the municipal centers in these districts, as well as in municipalities in the districts of Vidin, Pernik and Yambol and in settlements in a 30 km zone around the Kozloduy NPP, the Ministry of Interior informs.
The system is tested twice a year on the first working day of April and October - by triggering acoustic signals. The signals will be accompanied by voice information, BTA warned.
The exercise is being carried out to check the technical condition of the National Early Warning and Notification System and to educate the population, the Ministry of Interior added.
