Today's launch of the highway will greatly ease the burden on travelers in the direction of Pleven and Ruse. This was said by Regional Minister Ivan Ivanov, who, together with Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov, inspected the newly constructed section of the "Hemus" highway between the "Boaza" and "Dermantsi" interchanges, reports Nova TV. The new route of the highway begins at the 88th km from the village of village “Boaza“ and reaches the intersection with road III-307 Lukovit – Ugarchin, including the road junction “Dermantsi“.

“I take this opportunity to express my condolences to the relatives of the victims of the terrible flood. I sincerely hope that, if there are any guilty parties, they will be punished to the full extent of the law. I will make personal efforts to make this happen”, said Zafirov.

“A day like today fills me with optimism and hope because of the specific occasion on which we have gathered. It shows me that this management makes sense and the political price that all participants in this difficult management pay is worth it, because all the efforts you make are aimed at the convenience of citizens,” he commented.

In his words, today's opening, in addition to the convenience of citizens, also creates a safe environment, because it diverts traffic from some of the most dangerous areas in the country.

“We know that people want everything to happen at a much faster pace, but these are processes that are associated with a long period of design, financing and construction,” he explained.

Ivan Ivanov commented that work on many infrastructure projects was resumed in an extremely short time. “They were stopped in recent years precisely because of political timelessness. What is happening today is extremely symbolic for everyone living in Northern Bulgaria, because without the “Hemus” motorway there is no future in this region.

“Today's launch of the motorway will greatly ease the travel of those traveling in the direction of Pleven and Ruse. Within a month, those traveling to Varna will also have this convenience, construction is quite advanced”, said the regional minister.

“I hope that by the New Year we will issue a few more building permits in order to restore what was stopped. The political efforts we are putting in here are yielding results. We hope that Bulgarian citizens appreciate this, because the political price is extremely high, but the results are visible,” he explained.

“We are about to adopt an extremely important budget, which will give us many opportunities and expectations to meet on such occasions in the future,” Ivanov believes.

“We want 6 billion leva for infrastructure, but it depends on what the budget’s capabilities will be. In addition to the “Hemus” highway, there is also a road to Vidin, which is extremely important for this region,” he added.

“Technically, there are no problems in the construction, but the fact that there have been continuous elections in the country for 4 years has slowed down the process. Currently, all the paces are being caught up so that the road to Varna can be launched in early November,” the regional minister explained.
