I have very carefully familiarized myself with the position of the leader of GERB, Mr. Boyko Borisov, and I share his assessment that a turning point has come for the governance of Bulgaria. This is stated in the position of the leader of "DPS-New Beginning" Delyan Peevski.
“A moment on which depends whether we will have a stable and secure state power or whether we will allow intriguers, fair-goers and enthusiasts to throw the country into another early election. And not because we are afraid of elections - on the contrary, we have proven it. But because "DPS-New Beginning" is at the height of responsibility to the people, to the state. And that is why we continue to support the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov, even though we do not have a single minister, deputy minister or any other position in the executive branch,” he commented.
Peevski agrees that there is a need to reformat the government. “With clear responsibility for each of the participating political entities. Therefore, I declare that we are ready to assume our responsibility.”
“I will send a negotiating team in the coming days and I expect an invitation from Mr. Zhelyazkov, as stated by Mr. Borisov in his statement, as well as from the representatives of the other parties in the ruling structure for talks,” he said.
Peevski emphasized that for "DPS-New Beginning" the most important things are the people and Bulgaria. “And we will take on this responsibility because we are on the verge of entering the Eurozone, on the verge of adopting the first budget in euros, which must meet all expectations and commitments to the people — for better salaries for teachers, doctors, police officers, military, foresters and agricultural services, vulnerable groups, commitments to municipalities, to ensure a better life for people, commitments to young people and children, to students, to the elderly and the socially disadvantaged”.
“Because we will not leave Bulgaria in the hands of false saviors like Radev, to false democrats and virtual fraudsters like PP-DB, who are ready to sacrifice everything - both civil peace and democracy, for the sake of their own sick ambitions”, Peevski commented.
“And as for the post of Speaker of the National Assembly, the democratic tradition is for it to be for the largest political force and this is GERB. Therefore, I declare our readiness to support the appointment by PP GERB and its Chairman Mr. Borisov as Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria”, he added.
