The Sofia District Prosecutor's Office has charged and detained a 56-year-old man who caused bodily harm to a woman.
The evidence collected so far indicates that on 31.10.2025 at 2:30 p.m. on Blvd. “Bulgaria“ in the city of Sofia, the accused P.P. slapped a woman, as a result of which she fell to the ground.
As a result of the blow and the fall, P.P. caused her moderate bodily harm, resulting in a fracture of the skull. P.P. has shown aggression towards the woman after a minor traffic accident.
The act was committed on hooligan motives, in disregard of public order in a public place and demonstrating his clear disrespect for the human person.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case for a crime under Art. 131, para. 1, item 12, Art. 129, para. 2, in conjunction with para. 1 of the Criminal Code, for which a penalty of “deprivation of liberty“ from 2 to 10 years is provided.
By a decree of the prosecutor P.P. was detained for a period of up to 72 hours.
Today, 03.11.2025, the supervising prosecutor is to submit a request for the imposition of a preventive measure “detention in custody“ against the accused.
