The country's regular budget must be prepared by the regular government so that it can respond to the policies of the cabinet. This was said by economist Vasil Karaivanov.
Economist Rumen Galabinov believes that the new budget will probably be introduced at the end of May or June and will probably be approved in the middle of the year. He pointed out that this is not a problem, since work continues with the old plan-account. Also, entering the eurozone has contributed to the financial and economic stability of Bulgaria.
Galabinov emphasized that GDP growth of 3% is expected for this year. According to him, investments are increasing more slowly, and this year they are expected to be higher. He commented that there will be an increase in revenues. And the budget deficit should remain at 3%.
"Our productivity is low because our economy is small", Karaivanov told NOVA NEWS. According to him, the state is not implementing the investment budget. He expressed the opinion that the disproportionate increases in salaries in the public sector create long-term problems.
The 10 percent tariffs imposed by the US on Europe will also have an impact on Bulgaria, but only 1-2% of Bulgarian exports will be affected by them, Karaivanov said. This is due to the fact that our country exports mainly to Europe and less to the US, this also applies to the production of auto parts, he explained.
