Insisting on preventive measures, Bulgarian MEP from GERB and EPP Emil Radev sent questions to the European Commission (EC) about the potential risk of new migrant pressure on the European Union (EU) as a result of the escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
Emil Radev commented on the program "Bulgaria Morning" that the EC has already warned that the consequences of the destabilization could have a direct impact on the EU.
"All security in the Middle East is at risk," he emphasized.
According to him, we must be ready for migrant pressure and weed out illegal migrants from refugees.
"The EU must activate all the mechanisms it has," the MEP urged.
He believes that a terrorist threat is possible at any moment.
Radev doubted our country's readiness to deal with a potential threat and told Bulgaria ON AIR that preventive measures must be taken.
"The tools are there, we must apply them very strictly", the MEP also said.
According to him, it is always better to act preventively.
"When there is a real threat, we need time to organize. When there is a plan of action, there is readiness. I don't see there being a plan of action. We must be prepared for increased pressure,", Radev warned.
