After years of joint work, the paths of the Anti-Corruption Fund and Nikolay Staykov are parting ways. This was announced by the non-governmental organization on "Facebook".
Nikolay Staykov is among the co-founders of the ACF and a person without whom the organization would not be what it is today. From the early days of ACF, he invested a lot of energy, experience and courage in making ACF a strong and independent voice against corruption.
Nikolai was at the heart of some of ACF's most recognizable investigations, which illuminated numerous connections between power, economic interests and behind-the-scenes influences.
Among them are the investigations “Eight Dwarfs“, "Quick Control List" and "SGP Leaks" about networks of informal influence in the judicial system, "Uncle Trevichko's Holding" about the informal cartel built by businessman Hristo Kovachki, "The CorpBank Case: The Missing Names" about the financial and political dependencies surrounding the bankruptcy of Corporate Commercial Bank, "Apartmentgate" about the dubious acquisitions of luxury real estate by politicians and civil servants.
We thank Nikolay for everything he has done for the ACF over the years, and we wish him success and inspiration in his next professional steps.
The work of the Anti-Corruption Fund continues with the same goal and with the same belief: the fight against corruption in the protection of the public interest matters.
