President Iliana Yotova will continue the series of meetings regarding the need for effective measures to overcome the economic consequences of the conflict in the Middle East. This was announced by the press secretariat of the head of state.
At 9:30 a.m. Yotova will talk at “Dondukov“ 2 with the acting minister of tourism Irena Georgieva, and at 12:30 p.m. - with the acting minister of agriculture and food Ivan Hristanov.
On March 24, the president discussed with the leadership of the Commission for the Protection of Competition (CPC) the possible mechanisms and measures to overcome the economic consequences of the conflict in the Middle East. The head of state emphasized the need for the cabinet to prepare a comprehensive package of measures that would take into account various scenarios for the development of the situation in the Middle East and its long-term effects - not only on fuel prices, but also on the prices of basic consumer goods.
On March 30, the head of state spoke with the management of the Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) and the National Revenue Agency (NRA). The general opinion was that coordination between institutions and control bodies is of utmost importance for taking specific measures and actions to control prices, but for higher results from the activities of the NRA and CPC, it is necessary to expand their powers.
