This week GERB presented its management program until 2030. In it, the party stated that the current tax model will be preserved. This was confirmed by the leader of the party’s list in Veliko Tarnovo, Prof. Kostadin Angelov, on the show “Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov”.
“We even intend to reduce taxes. In the Corporate Income Tax Act, we introduced explicit text for investors in innovative technologies with research and development activities to have lower taxes”, he explained.
Angelov responded to Rumen Radev’s accusations that GERB’s program was copied. “Progressive Bulgaria”’s program was probably inspired by Tomislav Donchev in 2019. If you take the program of GERB from 2021 “Bulgaria – the next generation”, you will see that a large part of it, even 80% – coincides with the program of ”Progressive Bulgaria”, said Angelov.
”It is high time for Radev to position himself – is he left, is he right. To find himself. Otherwise, we are lying to the people”, he added.
Regarding the measures taken by the caretaker cabinet against the crisis, Angelov said that people do not feel them. “I was in Resen just now. People do not trust the government”, he said.
”In 2020 - a global crisis, closed economies. We then took quick and timely measures. And we know how to do this. Now we see mimicry of measures. People don't even know that there are any”, he commented.
„Finance Minister Klisurski said: „A billion and a half euros deficit for the first quarter. The budget is on autopilot”. What does this mean? It's true that the pilot is in an election campaign. But that means that the plane is on autopilot, there is no pilot in the country. This is dangerous”, said Angelov. The government behaved as a „observer”, and decisions are expected from it.
„We must ensure a low price for energy resources, bring in investors with research and development activities. We must have an economy with high added value”, said Angelov.
GERB is betting on a minimum wage of 1,000 euros, and the average wage is 2,500. “GERB has been an example of leading a tripartite dialogue. We sit down and come to an agreement. We will do it by increasing GDP”, said Angelov.
