Krum Zarkov: We achieved a result that many considered impossible. We showed resilience - 1

It is clear that we achieved a result that many considered impossible. We showed resilience and that we are on the right track. We will soon find out whether we will be represented in parliament. I take full responsibility for the results. On Tuesday, we will convene the Executive Bureau and then the National Council, and there we will consider how to proceed in a way that will return the BSP and its partners to where they belong - to the top of Bulgarian politics. This was said by BSP leader Krum Zarkov minutes after the end of election day in a comment on the preliminary results, quoted by Nova TV.
He specified that the results at the moment do not allow us to state whether the BSP has achieved its goals.

According to the results of the exit poll by the sociological agency “Trend” at 7:00 p.m., commissioned and financed by NOVA, the 52nd National Assembly will most likely have deputies from six parties, and “BSP - United Left” will be the smallest group in the National Assembly, winning 4.2% of the support.

He thanked all citizens who went to the polls. “Democracy is alive, voter turnout is higher. There is still much to be desired, but it is good that this trend is maintained. We extend special thanks to everyone who voted for the BSP, whether for the next time or for the first time. We thank all activists and members of our headquarters, we had difficult conditions and limited resources, personal contact was the priority”, the leader explained.

Zarkov congratulated Rumen Radev on his success, but clearly specified that this gives “Progressive Bulgaria” the responsibility to form a sustainable, competent and honest government. According to the leader of the socialists, the adoption of a regular budget, changes in the judicial system and measures against inflation are among the key priorities for the country. Zarkov expressed BSP's readiness to cooperate with other political entities under conditions of mutual respect and equality.

According to data from the exit poll of "Trend" as of 8 p.m. "Progressive Bulgaria" wins the early parliamentary vote with 39.6% of the vote. Second place is taken by the GERB-SDF coalition with 15.1 percent of the vote. Next is "We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria" with a result of 13.5%. Fourth and fifth place are respectively for MRF (8.1%) and "Vazrazhdane" (5.1%). Slightly above the barrier for entering parliament is "BSP – United Left" (4.1%).
