The hot summer weather in Bulgaria will continue tomorrow, August 23, 2026, but in the afternoon hours, movement of the atmospheric mass and local thunderstorms are expected. Maximum temperatures in most of the country will remain high – between 33° and 38°, and in the capital Sofia the thermometers will read about 33°. According to the data from the afternoon summary at 4:00 p.m. of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH), atmospheric pressure will remain higher than the average for the month.

The night before Sunday will be mostly clear and quiet. However, Sunday will offer the familiar summer contrast. Around and after noon, mainly above Southwestern and Central Southern Bulgaria, cumulus and cumulus-rainy clouds will begin to develop.

- Thunderstorm activity and risk of localized storms.
