The electoral wall will be the main obstacle for the political parties. Citizens are not only tired of the endless series of inconclusive early elections, but the parties are also losing the last vestiges of their prestige. This opinion was expressed in an interview for BNR by the political scientist and professor at the NBU, Prof. Antoniy Todorov.
We have no experience of having European and national elections on the same day. The European elections, which have the character of being secondary, will suffer, commented Todorov in the program "Above all".
"Domestic politics will prevail. The European will be left aside, it will be forgotten."
It will not be easy for the caretaker prime minister. It is good to keep in mind that of all those nominated for the position, he was the only one who agreed to take this post, Antony Todorov pointed out in connection with the constitutional changes that limited the circle of persons from whom the president chooses an acting prime minister.
"To be both, it's quite risky. You have to think about it. The hastily made change created such a problem."
"I personally doubt that he has his own home book. He has his history related to GERB," said the political scientist about Dimitar Glavchev. According to him, among the ministers there will be those named by the leader of GERB or at least figures for whom he did not object.
DPS are silent about Glavchev, "because this probably suits them, they are rather satisfied," Todorov added. According to him, during the presentation of the candidates for ministers, "there will be heated debates and then the DPS will intervene".
There are reasons to fear pressure and lobbying for such a government with a short horizon of action, because fish is best caught in cloudy water, the political scientist also noted.
"In these conditions, different lobbies will push for one or the other. The risk certainly exists and this is one danger with the new regulation."
