I really wanted us to have an honest person as chief of staff in the elections, because I knew that what happened would happen. This was said by the co-chairman of the PP-DB parliamentary group Kiril Petkov, quoted by BTA. He made his comment after the hearing in parliament of the resigned Minister of the Interior, Kalin Stoyanov, regarding Martin Bojanov-Notary.
„If we don't have an honest person as chief of staff for the elections, there will be scandals of vote buying, which happened during the local election, Petkov pointed out. Mr. Stoyanov has only two bosses. One is called Mr. Borisov, and the other is called Mr. Peevski”, added Petkov.
According to the co-chairman of the PP-DB PG, we are witnessing the beginning of one of the dirtiest campaigns that Bulgaria has ever had. „Actually, the clubs have come out again. Yesterday – arrests of senior officials in “Customs” without clarity about what is happening, how it is happening, no one comes forward to say anything. Today the chief secretary disappears – no one knows where he is, he had resigned. Kalin Stoyanov lied inside that at the first moment he did not know what was happening with the chief secretary, and the information we have is that yesterday they searched his office”, Petkov added.
We did not receive an answer as to whether Martin Bojanov was an associate of the Ministry of the Interior, said Hristo Ivanov. “Today's hearing of the resigned Minister of the Interior once again reinforced our opinion that he cannot continue to perform this activity and be part of a caretaker government that will organize fair elections,” commented Ivanov.
According to the deputy, the documents in the secret file are refusals to provide information to the temporary commission for verification of facts and circumstances related to the activities of the group around Martin Bojanov. "Neither documented nor verbally did we receive an answer to the simple question of whether the Notary was an associate of the Ministry of the Interior and if he was, was this an element of abuse of this status, because that is the big question," Hristo Ivanov added.
