Today we witnessed a gross violation of the law. I have appointed this person as the director of GDBOP when I was a caretaker minister. I had faith in this man that he would obey the law. I had hoped that after he was elected minister, he would do the same job. Today I regret his behavior, because obviously he does not know the legal system.
This was stated on the sidelines of the parliament by the deputy from "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria". Boyko Rashkov, who commented on the hearing of the resigned Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov on the topic of whether Martin Bojanov was an associate - the notary's secret associate of the Ministry of the Interior.
"The only law that regulates classified information is the Law on Protection of Classified Information, where in Art. 39, the procedure by which people's representatives can receive classified information when they make the necessary decision is regulated. What happened? We have made a decision, we have closed the meeting and Minister Stoyanov refused to answer the question whether the murdered Martin Bojanov was an associate of the Ministry of the Interior. In my opinion, the Minister of the Interior did not follow the law. He broke the law in plenary. I can't say whether this is due to ignorance of the law or someone orders him to do this. For me, both options are taken together," Rashkov added.
" Minister Stoyanov refuses to provide information and violates the law. He is obliged to give this information. In this way, we cannot solve a single question on the "Notary" case. We cannot find out whether this person had influence in the prosecutor's office and the Ministry of the Interior and whether he had connections with high-ranking politicians. We are not investigating Bojanov's murder. A few days ago, the former chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev publicly announced that Notarius was an associate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. I asked Kalin Stoyanov today if they will investigate these words, because this is a release of a state secret. Yes, I was a minister when the investigation was started on the complaints of various citizens about the activities of the Notary and also of Pepi Euroto. We have done what was possible, for example with Bojanov's wife - Gergana. The competition with which Gergana was appointed was announced 6-7 months before I became a minister and was announced as an external competition, which means that anyone outside the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs can apply. The practice is that competitions in the GDBOP are internal and only employees from the Ministry of the Interior participate. Yes, she was indeed denied access to classified information by Kalin Stoyanov, but a mistake was made, whether consciously or unconsciously I cannot say. The law provides for her to be offered another position that does not require access to classified information, but this has not been done. The court takes this omission into account and reinstates her. I had no choice but to sign the order for her appointment. "I didn't know at all that she was Bojanov's wife, and on the fifth day I didn't know who Bojanov was either," Rashkov revealed.
"I have not spoken to Zhivko Kotsev. Nobody knows where he is. We haven't found him where he is. I don't know if there is a connection between his resignation and the action in the "Customs" Agency, Boyko Rashkov also said.
