The European Prosecutor's Office did not contact the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRRD) or the Road Infrastructure Agency (API) regarding the investigation of the "Railway" tunnel. From what I understand, a flow of money that does not affect the state is being investigated. I can tell the facts related to the financial condition of the “Railway” tunnel. Financial implementation of the tunnel begins in 2019 and ends at the end of 2023. The total value of the project is BGN 258 million. Of these, 154 were paid out during the "Borisov 3" cabinet, 27 million during the office of Stefan Yanev, 19 million during the "Petkov" office, about 50 million during the office of Galab Donev and 5 million in the mandate of the current government", he presented data.

During the last official cabinet, about BGN 42 million were paid, the interesting thing is that BGN 28 million of them were actuated, i.e. certificates were presented on March 22, and paid on June 6 – the day the "Denkov" cabinet was sworn in. It is unusual because the Road Agency is paid regularly and does not wait for three months to pass for several certificates. It looks like it was paid at the last hour”, he explained.
“The European Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating facts that concern the relationship between a contractor and third parties. At the moment when the state pays the contractor, its only job is to monitor whether what has been paid has been performed qualitatively. The fact is that the object has been fulfilled. From now on, the interesting question is whether, through the payments that the contractor received, other types of relations that are beyond the control of the state were settled,”, the regional minister pointed out.
